On Monday February 24, Emmanuel Giboulot, an organic wine-grower from Burgundy, will be charged with the crime of having refused to use pesticides on his vines. He risks a 30,000 euro fine and a six-month prison sentence.

He is accused of flouting official regulations requiring the spraying of chemicals against the grape-leaf hopper on all the vines in the département, even though organic treatments exist for this insect.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand and the GoodPlanet Foundation are wholeheartedly backing Emmanuel Giboulot and you are invited to show your solidarity by signing the petition.
