Update : Planet Ocean app will no longer be available from December 31, 2020

To mark the World Environment Day (5th of June) Yann Arthus-Bertrand and the GoodPlanet Foundation, launch an international campaign “Planet Ocean – 1 film to understand | 1 app to take action”.

In partnership with OMEGA and Ethic Ocean, this major international campaign revolves around two components: a film accessible on YouTube in 10 languages and a free application to consume seafood products in a sustainable manner.

The film « Planet Ocean » by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot raises awareness around the preservation of the marine world. From now on, this film is available to all, in a full version on the YouTube channel “Planet Ocean – the movie”. Released in late 2012, the film “Planet Ocean” was made possible through the collaboration with Tara Expeditions and its network of scientific experts.

With the mobile application “Planet Ocean”, we also offer you the opportunity to take action directly for the protection of the ocean. What species of fish do I eat? Where and how has it been caught? These are some questions that our application will answer.

The app “Planet Ocean”, instructive and useful, will guide you to make your choices and will help identify endangered species and the ones managed in a sustainable manner. You will also discover the underwater world news in real time through the GoodPlanet magazine, some advice about how to consume seafood products in a sustainable manner and recipes. Avalaible on iPhone and Android, the app lists 100 species of fish and shellfish according to their origin, the state of their stock and their fishing techniques.
