Taking action: Because the best is yet to come…
Each one of us, whether a private individual, a company or a local authority, can take action in our own way to make the world a more humane, fairer and more generous place. It is essential for everyone to get on board to tackle present and future ecological and human challenges, but above all if we are to be able to live together.
With this in mind, the GoodPlanet Foundation implements local projects to take action on behalf of the planet and its inhabitants and, in doing so, offers everyone the opportunity to become an instrument of change by rallying to its cause. Worldwide, these development projects help to improve the environment and the quality of life of those affected and to combat climate change. Via the Action Carbone Solidaire programme, we predominantly operate in the fields of agriculture, forestry, waste and energy. In the latter, for example, we encourage the (re-)education of children by building bioclimatic schools. Each of our international solidarity projects demonstrates the wide range of existing sustainable solutions to build on in the future.
The Foundation also supports businesses with their CSR policies.
Raising awareness: A call to take action…
In order to encourage everyone to preserve the environment and live together, the GoodPlanet Foundation organises many different events throughout the year, revealing the beauty and fragility of the Planet and its inhabitants. As we tend to protect more fiercely something that we love, appreciate and understand, the Foundation displays magnificent images to raise public awareness.
Photographic exhibitions, film screenings, themed campaigns or local activities, each of the media we use to address the general public and the youngest members, of society pays tribute to the stunning landscapes and portraits created by Nature, hoping to touch people’s hearts.
GoodPlanet also invites us to open ourselves to others, to listen to and share the experiences of thousands of individuals throughout the world via the “7 billion Others” programme.
The Foundation’s next challenge will be to create a unique reference point where people can share and experience living together through the Fondation GoodPlanet – Domaine de Longchamp.
Informing and educating: Knowledge is action…
Aware that, in order to take practical action, it is first necessary to understand the ecological and human stakes, the GoodPlanet Foundation provides the general public, from all backgrounds and of all ages, with relevant information and tailored educational content.
Via the GoodPlanet.info Magazine, an environmental news service and online newsletter, and a collection of works, the Foundation seeks to improve public understanding of the environment and environmental issues. Its editorial content delivers a variety of factual information so that everyone can form their own opinion and choose to act at their own level.
In the belief that ecology and living together can be learned from early childhood, GoodPlanet has also developed dedicated free tools – posters (in french) and educational kits (in french) – to teach children about sustainable development issues. It is children who will build the future, it is important to educate them now.
