The GoodPlanet Foundation active at the Anti-Gaspi Brunch!
The GoodPlanet Foundation attended the Anti-Gaspi Brunch organised by Paris City Council on the esplanade of the City Hall to mark National Food Waste Awareness Day.
Did you know that every French citizen generates approximately 50kg of food waste per year, half of which outside of their home (restaurants, canteen, etc.)? And yet there are plenty of tips to reduce food waste at the canteen or in restaurants, like asking for a smaller portion or a doggy bag to take home the leftovers!
On 16 October, the GoodPlanet Foundation and its volunteers ran a stand throughout the day to raise awareness of food waste among children and adults, particularly through a “No more Waste” game designed with the ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency). The 1,500 guests at the brunch also had the chance to discover the exhibition “The solution on a platter!”.
An excellent anti-waste initiative which culminated in the signing of the Anti-Waste Charter by Parisian chefs and a visit from Mr. Stéphane Le Foll, Minister of Agriculture, Agrifood, and Forestry!
